Fabulous Cakes : TLC

Fabulous Cakes : TLC

Holey moley.
Watching this now, as Caked Las Vegas is making a $6,000 cake for a firefighter who’s been deployed to Iraq.
That’s a lot of icing!

Picture below is not from Caked Las Vegas, but from Wedding

Friday? Already?

This week had wings, and it’s back to work for me Monday morning.

I’m going to savor every last minute of my great week off!
The sun is shining in Seattle today, it’s still a wee bit cool but the weather guru’s are promising 60 degrees F on Sunday.
I watched Black Swan yesterday; it’s very good, but I was not blown away by it. Too many possible interpretations of the end. As my son said when he was a teenager (a number of years ago), “It’s my vacation, I’m not SUPPOSED to think.”
Fringe is on tonight, and next Friday is the third season finale. Good interview with John Noble in the Los Angeles Times, if you are so inclined.
And now I must go and waste some more time.
Monday’s coming too soon!

Congratulations to William and Kate.
I’m a sucker for weddings.

Elvis Presley – Memories

Singing this song yesterday and today as I’ve worked on emptying out my storage locker in Bellevue. This is one of my favorite Elvis songs; he sings it much better than I do!
I found a brand new umbrella, a whole bunch of sweaters and some dishes I had forgotten about.
Goodwill got a lot of old towels, sheets, and books.
On my next vacation I will be getting rid of three large items, then giving up the storage unit at last.
Feels good to have this chore almost done.
Vacation is winding down, back to work on Monday.
Netflix delivered Black Swan, and I’m going to watch it this afternoon.

Hope you are all doing well.

This is hysterical!

Things I’m doing on my staycation

  1. Not setting my alarm clock.
  2. Taking a bubble bath at two in the afternoon.
  3. Reading
  4. Contemplating the 16th anniversary of obtaining my B.S. degree in Social Work (I went to college at the age of 43).
  5. As I contemplate #4, I’m happy to acknowledge that I have my B.S. and M.S.W degrees, and that I do not have to take the SAT’s again (when I took the college boards, many years ago, I did not get any sat tutoring. I’ve always feared tests!).
  6. Delivered chocolate Easter bunnies to my grandchildren.
  7. Spent Easter with my son and his family in Bellingham, Washington.
  8. Watching movies and television programs (Tangled, The Killing).
  9. Playing Facebook games.
Well, you get my drift!
I’m also getting caught up on my sleep, taking sips (and not gulps) of my morning coffee, and just taking time to be.
I’m also going to see Jane Eyre this weekend.
How’s your week going?
Oh yes, I will also be getting caught up on some blogs!

Spring, Easter, vacation, and a tune to share

Green is making a comeback in Seattle.

Trees are sprouting leaves!

It’s still really cool at night and morning, but the days are warming up nicely.

Happy Easter, if you celebrate.

And after months, I’m finally on vacation!

I only worked a half day today, and I have all next week off. I celebrated by taking a short nap this afternoon, just because I could.

I’m going to stay up late at night, sleep in mornings, do some household chores, read, watch movies. and listen to music.

Have a great weekend!

Paul Weller plays ‘Wild Wood’ live (Live Wood)

With thanks to A Cuban in London for the link to this great tune.

Four days to go!

That’s me, above, by Friday afternoon!
And that’s all I’ve got to say for now!

Castle // S03E13 // Knockdown (full episode)

“Castle” is one of my favorite television shows.
It’s on Monday nights at 10:00 p.m., so I usually watch it online (can’t stay awake after ten on weeknights!).
I hope you have the chance to watch this, and that you will get hooked on “Castle” too.
