Checking in

Taking life slower seems to be working for me, because I have a lot more energy, and a blood pressure medication has helped me a lot.

I’ve been in bed every night at eight or nine, but I jump out of bed with a new vigor every morning.

My reading pace has slowed considerably, but I hope this changes soon. I’m finishing up a good Laurie R. King book right now. I had a copy from the library, but I couldn’t finish it by the time it was due back.

So I bought the paperback book.

Look for my review when I’m done.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween.

Happy Halloween!

I’m home for a few hours, then off to have some medical tests done.

Then I’m going to spend the night with my family and will be back tomorrow.

I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween.

The Pursuit of Happyness (Wonderful emotions – ending)

This is the start of a new feature at Gran Speaks–my favorite movie endings.

Thanks to my film critic daughter-in-law, I saw this movie in pre-release.

As this ending played, I started to cry.

And then I started sobbing into the napkin I had used to wipe the popcorn butter off my hands.

My nose was running, then I got the hiccups.

People were staring at me, my poor daughter-in-law looked like she wanted to crawl under her seat.

I’m a dork.

But I’m also a sucker for a happy ending.

It’s unlikely I’m a witch!

You Are 40% Witch

It’s unlikely that you’re a witch. At least, no one thinks you are.

You may still be interested in witchcraft, but you’re by no means a stereotypical witch.

While you don’t seem all that witchy, people may think you’re a bit weird.

You’re definitely a little offbeat. No one really knows what to make of you sometimes.

Thanks, Lady Banana!

Doing the dance

I have 3 days off, and I’m doing the dance of joy.

Tomorrow afternoon will be spent having more blood drawn (groan) and an ECHO, but hey, it’s a day off!

Then, after I’ve fulfilled promises to my doctor, I’m off to spend Halloween with my family.

I will post tomorrow morning, before I leave for group wellness.

Have a good night, my friends.

Super Scribbler Award

Thanks to Lady Banana in the U.K. for this award!

I’m passing this award on to anyone who comments here.

You want it, you got it!

One more day this week

One more day of work for the week, then three days off!

I was awake until 9:00 p.m. last night.

I know, I’m a party animal.

I’m off to read your blogs right now.

And then I’m going to pray that election day comes quickly.

I’m sick of people calling each other liars.

BTW, I got my flu shot today.

I’m wondering, do YOU get a flu shot?

all your wonderful blogs

It’s also a portrait of me, at least for this week.

I’m cold and tired and cranky.

I will visit, and comment on, your wonderful blogs as soon as possible.

Thank goodness tomorrow is Wednesday!

I’m off Friday, so I only have two days left this week.

The photo above was taken with my cell phone last Saturday morning, as the fog was being chased away by brilliant sunshine.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Jennifer Hudson worked her way up –

Jennifer Hudson worked her way up –

Heartbreaking news from Chicago today as the FBI has confirmed that 7-year-old Julian King is dead.

Words escape me right now.

I can only offer my condolences to Jennifer Hudson and her family.
