Note to self: Visit blogs often

I’m glad that I added a blog list to this blog, because it makes visiting blogs easier.

Google Reader is great, and during the week, when I come home from work with a blown brain, a reader is an easy way for me to get caught up on posts before I pass out for seven or eight hours.

But reading posts strictly via a reader is an antiseptic way to read blogs.

In my opinion, anyway.

I don’t give myself a chance to see how it’s all being put together, to enjoy the visual treats of my favorite blogs.

I like the way bloggers put their blogs together, showing readers their interests and glimpses of their lives, the problems, the joys, and the frustrations.

Reading a blog is an escape into voyeurism, when you think about it, except that bloggers control the information they write about themselves.

When I visit blogs, I take time to notice any theme or widget changes, who has stopped by to visit besides me, and find links to other blogs.

Note to self: Visit blogs often.

  1. I use GReader as well and agree with you it is not the nicest way to read the blogs but I seem to be reading far too many recently to have time to do it any other way..

  2. I’ve gone through that period as well, when there are truly so many blogs and too little time–too bad I have to work!
